On 7th of October 2013 the MY-DRG Code Assist Casemix Software was named winner of the Best e-Health Solution 2013 among nineteen finalists at the Asia Pacific Information Communication Technology Alliance (APTICA) Awards 2013 held in Hotel Continental Kuala Lumpur. The award was jointly organised by Multimedia Corporation of Malaysia (MDEC) and the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM). The award was presented by Dato’ Azemi Che Haron, Deputy Secretary General representing the Minster of Communication and Multimedia.

The MY-DRG Code Assist is one of the four softwares developed by researchers from International Centre For Casemix and Clinical Coding, UKM (ITCC-UKM) led by Prof Dato’ Dr Syed Aljunid., Senior Research Fellow of UNU-IIGH. MY-DRG Code Assist v2.1 is a rapid casemix assignment software that has been used to assign a Casemix code. This software will yield better quality and efficiency in delivery of health care services specifically in reimbursement system. The software is marketed through Casemix Solutions Sdn Bhd, a UKM-owned start-up company.

As a result of this exemplary innovation, MY-DRG Code Assist v2.1 will be the representative of the Malaysian government and compete with other Asian countries in the International APICTA to be held on 24 -28 Nov 2013 in Hong Kong. The Casemix Research Team members of ITCC-UKM and Casemix Solutions Sdn Bhd lead by Prof. Dato’ Dr Syed Aljunid will be attending the said event.
